As our school continues to grow we have required additional support in the administration office. This term we ran a recruitment process for school officers and welcomed Tarryn Fraser to our administration team. Tarryn is an experienced school officer and has worked in various primary and high schools, most recently Dawson Park Primary School. You will get to know Tarryn at the front desk in administration, she has been a great addition to our administration team and we thank her for the way she has settled in so quickly to her role. Cara Barbato has previously worked as an education assistant at Leeming ESC and has also had experience working with the administration and workplace learning team, Cara will join the workplace learning team permanently in term 3.
I would like to thank our Student Services Manager Cathy Houden and School Chaplain Vangi for organising the great initiative Leeming Links. This social skills program has been very successful with an increasing number of students becoming involved and enjoying the organised activities during recess and lunch. Students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of fun activities to develop their conversation skills, turn taking, resiliency skills and working as part of team.
A big thank you also to Ms Heard and Ms Pereira for organising a number of interschool carnivals this term. These carnivals give students an opportunity to represent Leeming Esc and learn about being part of a team. I have had very positive feedback from parents, staff and students. All students have represented Leeming ESC school very well, demonstrating excellent sportsmanship and a positive and happy attitude. Well done to all students and staff involved.
There are some exciting school and community events planned for Term 3. In the first week back next term there will be a Western Australian Symphony Orchestra (WASO) concert on 23rd July. The ensemble will be made up of 15 string musicians from WASO and the Australian National Academy of Music in Melbourne. WASO have been coming to Leeming every year for the past eight years and our students thoroughly enjoy the experience, with many students demonstrating their natural love of music. This year will be even more special with the addition of musicians from the Australian National Academy of Music.
Our annual Pop Up Shops community event will be on 12th August. This is always a very special day where students showcase the enterprise projects they have been working on in class. This is a great community event for parents, families and community members to be a part of and we look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible.
During Term 3 students will have the opportunity to develop their athletics skills in the PE program and after school athletics program in preparation for the Athletics carnival on 13th September.
Congratulations to our very talented and amazing runner, Raynor Keane who has been selected to represent Western Australia in the Cross Country team. Raynor will be travelling to Wollongong in August to compete and on behalf of the Leeming Esc school community we wish him all the very best.
This Thursday 4th July we welcome two special visitors, Hon. Stephen Dawson, Minister for Environment, Disability Services and Electoral and Yaz Mubarakai, Member for Jandakot. I look forward to giving them a tour to see our excellent programs and facilities and to meet staff and students.
Have a great holiday break and we look forward to students returning to school on Monday 22nd July.
Mrs Keran Davies
Due to the wonderfully generous donations of items for our School Community Support project, we are in the situation of asking that you hold on to your donations for the present until next term.
The school community has been tremendous in the support made and all involved extend their gratitude.
I will update you all on the status in the next newsletter. Thank you again.
At our recent meetings, the Board has discussed capital works projects planned for the school campus, speakers for the Parent Network Meeting and a new parent information tool Consent2Go. The Board also had presentations relating to our school Business Plan - Aboriginal Cultural Standards Framework and a Middle School Curriculum Committee update on targets and goals from the Operational Plan.
The presentations we are privileged to listen to highlight and reinforce for us all the extra ordinary work undertaken by our staff for the students.

Blake Peak:
Describing a Character
“Mr Unknown. In ways he looked like the Hulk with bulging muscly arms with a jawline like a rock that could crack a coconut. His face had sharp prickly hair and matched the top of his head. He had yellow piercing eyes like a cat that could easily see in the darkness of the night.”
Describing a setting.
“On the docks at the ocean where the water was so deep that if you dropped something in you would never see it again, was an old abandoned warehouse. The entry door was so rusted that is you touched it with your bare hands you would need a tetanus shot. The windows were so dusty that if you tried to wipe it away, your hands would be as black as night. The stench coming from inside from the dead rates was so crippling he needed a gas mask. In one corner was old decomposing barrels and work tools.”
Oscar Cuffe-Cain:
Writing about characters and situations.
“I was racing in the world dangerous race. I was doing so well in my race until my engine was just revving and I started to slow down. I looked down and my chain fell off and the other competitors were catching up to me and I was right next to an angry ants nest and they were trying to bite me. So I had to push my bike away from the ants nest. After that I had to look for my chain. I was walking and I saw something shining in the sand. I went over to it and then I looked then I looked again and it was my chain I was so happy. So I ran back to my bike and tried to put my chain on and then I put my helmet on and I started my bike and off I go, I was just hoping my chain would not come off again. I kept riding and I was going as fast as the bike would. It was revving so hard and I looked and I saw the finish and I was so happy. When I got to the finish line I thought I had come first but I looked and I saw all the other competitors waiting for me and I thought all that work for nothing. I was so upset. But I was still happy I finished.”
It has been a very busy term with all students working exceptionally hard across all their learning areas: Courses of Study, Workplace Learning, SBT Traineeships, Certificate Courses and Community Based Learning (CBL).
Our CBL program has included a Garden City Challenge and a Marine Education Tour of Cicerello’s in Fremantle. The Marine Education Tour included viewing over 40 metres of aquariums, a discussion about the environmental issues that affects our marine life and last, but not least, a hands on encounter with Starfish, Sea Cucumbers and a Port Jackson Shark. To encapsulate a brilliant tour, it was only befitting that we sampled their famous fish and chips.

The celebration continues with a big congratulations to Allara May for receiving the Merit Certificate for ESC1, to Jake Allington who will be commencing his work trial at Activ Bentley over the school holidays, and to Zan Farcic for being awarded Employee of the Month.
The students and staff are currently away exploring the great South West of WA including Pemberton, Northcliffe, Walpole, Augusta and Forest Grove. We look forward to sharing a visual of our camp at the next Centre Assembly in Term 3.
On return from camp, staff and parents from ESC1 will running a sausage sizzle at Bunnings, O’Connor, to raise funds towards Graduation. To all our Leeming parents, come on down and buy a sausage sizzle to kick start your holidays to help raise funds for the Graduating Class of 2019.
A big thank you to my EA team – Sonia Soares, Donna Grida, Dianne Williams and Stephanie McCaskie for all your hard work over the term. In closing, a message to the students of ESC1:
“Take pride in how far you have come and have faith in how far you can go”
Happy Holidays! Ms FP
ESC2 had an incredibly busy term. We have been learning about appropriate behaviour in the larger community in our English lessons. The students had the opportunity to practice those skills while out to Fremantle Prison and Art Gallery. I am so proud of how well they behaved. Even the tour guides were impressed by their exemplary behaviour. The students also had opportunities to practice their money skills when ordering their lunch. Here are the highlights for the term from the students:
Ben Shaw: For workplace learning I have been going to Activ Bentley which I really enjoy. I also like going on public transport. I have also enjoyed maths and practising my money skills.
Azaria: I really enjoyed participating in the dance program this term. I learnt some new moves and I was the best dancer in the class. It was so much fun. Cooking was another activity I have really enjoyed this term.
Eve: I have loved doing cooking on a Friday. My favourite thing to cook is mini pizzas. We also went to the Fremantle prison for an excursion. We went on the school bus and Mr Caddy was our bus driver.
Kayla: I have enjoyed going to the Art Gallery to walk around and look at the different and sculptures and going to Hungry Jack’s and buying my lunch. I have enjoyed doing dance with my class and am looking forward to doing a performance with AC-DC music at assembly in term 3.

Ben Armstrong: In June we went on a class excursion to the Fremantle Prison. It was very interesting and I enjoyed learning about the history of the prison we got to look at some of the old prison cells. I would not like to go to the prison. This term I have really enjoyed working in the garden with Mr Z. We have been feeding the chickens, giving them water and collecting their eggs. We also have done some mulching. I enjoy being outdoors.
Josh: The most exciting activity I participated in this term was the International Basketball. It was so much fun and I won a medal for the most valuable player. I love basketball. I also went to the Interschool Bowling Excursion. I really enjoyed myself and won another medal for being the top scorer. I really like playing lots of different sports.
Jacob: Over the last few weeks I have enjoyed going on the school bus to our excursions to the Art Gallery and Fremantle Prison. My other favourite activity was buying a Whopper at Hungry Jacks afterwards.
Morgan: My favourite activity over the term has been working with Mr Z and Mr Muir. I like working in the garden with Mr Z because it’s outdoors and I also like working with the tools. I also loved the Fremantle Prison excursion.

The weeks have continued to fly by at a rapid pace and the students have been engaging with a variety of different activities. We’ve learned about safe behaviours in the community and have been busy rehearsing for our role plays about asking for help if we were lost. Meanwhile, in Maths the students have continued their exploration of the concept of time.
In term 3, we will be having our Pop-Up Shop Day on the 4th August. Please write the date in your diaries. ESC 4 is making spice bags for purchase. If you cannot attend Pop-Up Shop Day but would still like to purchase something, please email Mr. D’Mello at rykielroy.dmello@education.wa.edu.au and we will do our best to cater for you!

Kaya,
It is hard to believe that we are half way through the year already. The ESC 5 students are working and displaying remarkable responsibility, independence and cooperative skills engaging in school and Community Based projects. Our project focus this term has been around Bush Rangers-Biodiversity. At school the students have been learning about wetlands, frogs and turtles. When Natasha from SURCUL visited our class, we discovered many interesting facts about frog ponds and long neck turtles. The students worked hard in the school garden to re-establish the frog pond and frog bog. SURCUL also kindly provided forty bush tucker plants as part of the Phosphorus Awareness Project grant it receives from the Department of Biodiversity Conservation and Attractions (DBCA). The students planted the bush tucker plants in and around the frog pond garden and it looks amazing.

Next term, the students will research and dual-sign the Aboriginal bush tucker plants to expand on their Noongar knowledge and language vocabulary bank. Connecting with the Wetlands project students have been taking photographs at Bibra Lake to enter into the Chevron Focus Environment Competition in one of the three categories; Native Species, Habitats and Sustainability. Thank you to the families and Mrs Coles for joining us at Bibra Lake for a sausage sizzle and a huge acknowledgment of Ms Pat for organising the catering. Congratulations to Zachary Mustard and Samuel Seaman for their participation in the interschool basketball carnival. Ella Lowrey and Aidan Mulchrone enjoyed Bowling at Melville with Aidan scoring the highest points and awarded champion on the day also Zachary Mustard was a super star engaging in the interschool Chess tournament.
Phew! One last very important notice is to welcome a new student to our class family. Jake has enjoyed transitioning over the last two weeks and will start fulltime in term 3. A special thank you to Mrs Broadhurst, Ms Smith, Ms Palma and our amazing volunteer, Ms Pat for their consistent hard work and support. Thank you!

The last few weeks of term 2 have been busy and filled with exciting and challenging events. Although a few of us were hit with the bug, we managed to make it through together! This term for CBL we travelled to Bull Creek to get to know the facilities available to us as part of our ASDAN Community module. We visited the health services there and even had a tour of Bull Creek Library. We covered a lot of important events and topics during HASS this term including Sorry Day, Reconciliation Week and Refugee Week, and we are looking forward to our NAIDOC celebrations in the last week of school. As a class, we brainstormed some of the awesome classes and activities we’ve been doing, and chose our favourites. Have a look below:
Karleigh: My favourite part of term 2 was camp. I liked the flying fox. I went so fast and it made me feel happy when I got to the end. I also loved reading books at the library for CBL. I am going to Portugal with my Mum and Dad. I feel excited and I feel like fun in the airplane because I can see all the cities.
Hanna: This term I went bowling with Miss Heard. I had lots of fun. In term 2 I loved going fast on the flying fox at camp. I made pizza with cheese and ham in Home Ec. It was yummy.
Matthew: this term I liked the computer. I like Maths and learning about money. At camp I liked building a shelter with Taine. I sit across from Lachy. It is nice. Taine is nice too. In Home Ec I liked making pizza. I went bowling with Taine and Hanna. It was nice. I liked listening to bells and keyboards at Chat Group.
Ezra: My favourite part of term 2 was going on school camp. On camp we did some fun activities such as the commando course, flying fox and bushcraft. I also liked going on CBL. My favourite thing to do on CBL is buying my lunch. I also liked going to Bull Creek Library and reading about gardening.
Raymond: In term 2 I liked the camp at Swan Valley because I liked the possum glider and I meditated airborne. I tagged on and off independently on the bus at CBL. I learned a lesson about lights and I did the virtual hip hop like a DJ in Science. At AFL tipping I am in first place. At Home Ec I am very skilled at culinary skills. I went to Crown Casino to study oil spills with my Science teacher. I even sit next to Hanna and that makes me and Hanna feel impressed.
Taine: I like shapes in Maths. CBL I like going on the bus and visiting different shops. I like playing on the bike. On camp I liked the food and sleeping. I also like Science. I went bowling with Hanna and Matthew. We ate sausage rolls for lunch.
Lachy (absent): This term Lachy has enjoyed his dance class during PE, taking the bus on CBL and Maths with Mrs Vann.
Henry (absent): This term Henry has enjoyed our CBL visits and his excursion to Crown Casino to learn about oil spills with Mr K.
What a term of learning and jam packed activities that we’ve had! The boys in ESC 8 are becoming responsible high school students and are making their teachers and families proud.
Pop-Up shop preparations are in full swing creating an atmosphere of excitement among the students. Our class is making some really awesome things for sale on the day.
During the term we had a Transperth Incursion as a precursor to our many planned travel experiences for the rest of our years in this Centre. Knowing how to use the public transport system and how to behave appropriately on public transport are important steps towards each student developing independent travel skills at some time in the future.
On a recent CBL excursion the class was invited to observe a staff member have her flu vaccination at the Terry White Pharmacy, Leeming. Liz Zappia (Pharmacy Manager) was very accommodating in allowing us this opportunity during the very busy flu season rush in the Pharmacy at the current time. The students could observe that having an injection is not traumatic and according to Ms Harcourt (our guinea pig) it was no big deal. Thank you Ms Harcourt for kindly volunteering for our benefit.
With the completion of such a wonderful Semester One, we are already eagerly looking forward to all the good things to come in Semester Two

Once again it’s been an extremely busy end to the term for 8.1! We have been working hard across all learning areas; particularly enjoying literacy, STEM and Music. We have discovered we have a few musicians in our class who are quite talented! Students are excited for the school holidays for a much needed rest and recharge (the staff are a bit excited also!). Here’s some of their plans for the two week break:
Orlando: I would like to go out for breakfast and watch the Detective Pikachu movie.
Nekoda: I would like to go to the Zoo with Mum, Dad and Serai.
Ayrton: I’m going to the movies to watch Aladdin with Kath.
Alyssa: I’m going to watch youtube videos on minecraft and roblocks.
Makenzie: I want to go and see Secret Life of Pets 2 with my mum and sister.
Harvey: I’m going on a road trip to Karijini with Mum and Max.
Nathan: I’m going to go to Time zone with Mum and Dad.
In term 3, we will be having our Pop-Up Shop Day on the 4th August. Please write the date in your diaries. ESC 9 is making inspirational photo frames for purchase. If you cannot attend Pop-Up Shop Day but would still like to purchase something, please email Mrs Knox at Caitlyn.rasmussen@education.wa.edu.au and we will do our best to cater for you!

We have had an amazing term 2 in ESC10, with the joint year 7 camp in week 4 causing lots of excitement and joy to our classroom! The year 7.3 boys loved every minute of travelling to Point Peron and the 3 days of ensuing fun and games! Some highlights of the camp were the beach activities, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding and boogie boards! Crate tower is always a favourite and all of the boys absolutely crushed their fears and climbed much higher than they expected! The boys of ESC 10 blew me away with their maturity and independence throughout the entire camp, they were always willing to help each other and staff with anything and everything, including dishes!

We are gearing up ready for the Leeming Pop Up shops early next term and are busily researching and brainstorming ideas for our business enterprise, I’m sure the boys will come up with a fantastic idea!
We welcomed Mitch Young to our class in week 3 and consider ourselves very lucky to have gained such a pleasant and friendly young man. Welcome Mitch!
As always a massive thank you to the ESC10 EA’s Mrs Buchanan, Mrs Brayne and Miss T, as well as the parents and guardians of the 7.3 students, your continued support is invaluable.
Mrs Cullen
Adam: On CBL we went to Bullcreek Shopping Centre. We had to catch a bus there and back to school. Once we were at the shopping centre we had to do a worksheet where we had to look for shoes, water, newspaper and a sandwich. We had to write down where we could buy them and how much they cost. After we did the worksheet we bought some morning tea at the bakery. I had a sausage roll and it was delicious.
Charlotte: Earlier in the year we went to Sculptures by the Sea. It was in Cottesloe. I liked seeing the sculptures; the one with the big nose was my favourite. We had to use busses and trains to get there. After the tour we had lunch then came back to school.
Poppy: As part of our Bush Ranger program we went to South Beach to do conservation work. We had to plant small plants in the sand dunes to help with erosion. It was fun, the weather was sunny. We had recess and lunch on the grass before coming back to school.
Jack: At the end of last term we went to Kings Park. We caught a bus and a train to get there. We did lots of walking to the war memorial. We had to run to the bus on the way back. It was a good day.
Sian: We are making a music wall as part of Bush Rangers. We are making it because we like music and using recycled materials to help with conservation. We had to bring containers and old pots and pans which can make noise. I am enjoying planning the project.
Yujia: I like Leeming, I like to play the drums and drink tea. My friend is Jack.
We have had a terrific semester 1 and students are constantly developing in the academic and social skills, not to mention their independence. Given the newsletter is a reflection of what students have achieved or participated in, they have decided to take ownership and write the articles. See below for their efforts.
In week 8 we went to Point Peron for camp with staff and students from ESC15. We participated in many activities which included a problem solving task. Tyler took on the leadership role for this activity. With Tyler as our leader, our group had to come up with a solution to get across an invisible hole with a magic mask. We thought we needed to put one person on our back and another step on our feet so we could walk across the invisible hole. At the end we all made it across and succeeded. (Written by Matthew Brandish, supported by Mrs Long).

In Math, we organised a ‘Getting to know you’ morning tea and invited 2 year-7 students from each class. The Math skills we planned were using a timeline of activities, research menu items from difference stores to compare prices and calculate costs using a calculator. Topics we spoke about were which Primary School students were from and if they knew anyone when they started this year. Two students didn’t have any friends from Primary School. They might have felt scared. We told the year 7 students that in year 12, we attend work placement each Wednesday, some students have school based traineeships and some students do certificate courses. We are planning to do more activities with the year 7 students. (Written by Britteny Martino, supported by Miss Davis).
Students will continue to choose what to write about in future articles, and compose articles with staff assistance. We hope you have a lovely holiday break.
Bush Rangers
The second half of Term Two saw the students from ESC 15 putting the finishing touches to their Bush Rangers Conservation Project. Having done all the planning, clearing setting out and planting of our small area of bushland just behind our classroom, the students now have to wait in order to see the fruits of their labours. They say that they are proud of their efforts and are looking forward to the seeing the plants establish themselves and our everlastings begin to flower. Students also helped to install three micro-bat boxes in some nearby gum trees and we all hope that this may, in some small way, help to support an endangered species.

Pop Up Shop
Another important activity from the later part of this term has seen the students working hard in order to complete their decorated plant pots for our contribution to the upcoming “Pop Up Shops.” We will have two sizes of pots available both of which have been decorated with an aboriginal “dot art” style and come complete with a beautiful plant such as a succulent. The designs that the students used came about as a result of their research into Aboriginal art, after which they chose a pleasing design to put on their own pot. The pots have had a good reception from visitors to the classroom and ESC 15 Parents/Carers are most welcome to reserve their child’s pot if they would like to. The predicted prices will be $5.00 for the small pots and $10.00 for the larger ones.
These photos will give you an idea of what will be available although we haven’t potted the plants yet.

Camp
Perhaps one of the most significant ventures this term was the combined Year eleven and twelve student camp to Point Peron. It is always pleasing to see students behaving appropriately and showing kindness towards one another. This generosity of spirit was clearly evident on numerous occasions during the camp for example, members of our class inviting other students to join their group when they saw an individual sitting alone.

During each camp day, students were given the opportunity to experience a range of activities such as orienteering, archery, rock climbing, crate stack challenge, team games and beach walks.
It was fantastic to see students challenging themselves to improve and trying their best to achieve each of the tasks set.

Sports update
It has been a busy and exciting few weeks in the Physical Education Department! Students have been participating in various sports including Soccer, Basketball, AFL and Dance during PE lessons. Term 3 is fast approaching with the Athletics Carnival being held in week 9. Details for after school athletics training will be sent out to parents/carers very soon.
Basketball Carnival
In week 5, two teams of students participated in the Hills Basketball Carnival at Ray Owen Sports Complex in Lesmurdie. Both teams did an outstanding job, displaying great sportsmanship and teamwork for the whole day. Congratulations to everyone involved in a very successful day. A special mention to the following players who received medals.
Team 1
Most Valuable Player- Brittany Walton- Year 11
Sportmanship Award - Jackson Shephard - Year 7
Team 2
Sportmanship Award - Wil Simpson- Year 11
Most Valuable Player- Josh Evans- Year 11

Ten Pin Bowling
In week 6, 3 teams of students were selected to participate in a 10 Pin Bowling Carnival organised by the WADSA. This was a very fulfilling event enjoyed by all involved! A massive thank you to all the staff who came along for the day and assisted. Congratulations to all the students for displaying great enthusiasm and behaviour during the day, it was an extremely fun event.
Special mention to the following students who received medals for being the winner of their team!
Josh Evans
Amasha Weerasinghe
Aidan Mulchrone
Year 11 Keys for Life
Students enrolled in the Keys for Life program have been lucky to have guest presenters from the RAC come and run some activities during class time. Students were involved in learning about being a “back seat driver” and ways to avoid distractions when in the car. The photos below show some students trying on the goggles that replicate someone’s vision who is under the influence of drugs/alcohol and not being able to see clearly or concentrate properly. The activity involved students trying to walk in a straight line, trying to give someone a high 5 and following a direct path. The goggles made these tasks very difficult and almost impossible, teaching students a valuable lesson.
Thank you to all students for being such good listeners and for asking lots of questions during the incursion. You are all doing a fantastic job in this course!

Cross Country Run Club
On Monday afternoons, Ross Keane runs a “running club” at Piney Lakes Reserve. He is welcoming keen Leeming ESC students to join in for some cross country running training. If you are interested, students (and parents) can meet Ross and his group near the toilet block and car park at Piney Lakes Reserve Murdoch, Mondays at 4:45pm. Please note there is a break for school holidays, so the sessions will commence week 1 term 3 (Monday 22nd July) and conclude mid-late August. Sessions generally last for 45 minutes. For further information, please contact Ross Keane via email rosskeane1@bigpond.com.
Inclusive netball for girls
Below is information for the Marie Little OAM Netball shield. Please contact Jenelle Heard at jenelle.heard@education.wa.edu.au if you would like nomination forms sent to you.
The Marie Little OAM Shield is an annual tournament that provides women with an intellectual disability the chance to compete at a national level.
Marie Little OAM was the founder of Sport Inclusion Australia (formerly known as AUSRAPID) in 1986 and dedicated her working life to improve the lives of people with an intellectual disability, using the medium of sport. Renaming the event in her name was an honour of her work within the netball community.
The inaugural Marie Little OAM Shield began in 2013 with three teams contesting the title. In 2016, Western Australia and Queensland were invited to enter teams in to the competition.
Team selections commence in July, following the one day No Limits competition at the annual Netball WA Association Championships.

Just a few friendly reminders for winter:
*Now that the cooler weather is upon us please keep students dressed professionally in a cardigan or jumper to suit their workplace and only use school uniform for school days.
*Please notify the school prior to the start of the school day if your child is absent/unwell.

HELLO Everyone,
I hope you are well.
Our Recess and Lunch Groups “LEEMING LINK” have been a great success this term!
Mrs Houden and myself have had a variety of games, activities, challenges and competitions which the students have participated in. Among these we have had Card Games/UNO, Twister, Chat Ball, Soccer Goal Competition, Soup & Toasties, Pikelets, Marble Run, Kerplunk, Giant Jenga, Giant Connect 4, Spaghetti & Marsmallow Challenge, Jelly Bean Game and Damper for NAIDOC Week.
This has helped to encourage our students to interact with one another and build social skills.
The CONNECT 4 COMPETITION in Week 7 was a lot of fun with many competitors.
WELL DONE TO OUR 2 CHAMPIONS …
LUKA OROZ and FATIMA SALMAN!!

We look forward to many more exciting and interactive events and games in Term 3!
I want to extend a BIG THANK YOU to all our families who have donated items throughout the term, to our Community Project. Your generosity has made it possible for us to help and provide for individual students and families, in their time of need. May you be abundantly blessed as you bless others.
*PLEASE NOTE* I will be away on Long Service Leave for the first 4 weeks of Term 3. I will be back on the 19th August.
CONGRATULATIONS OSCAR, BRANDEN and JACKSON!!!

THANK YOU MISS TRAHORSCH for all your help and encouragement throughout the program!
“BOY ZONE” is a social skills program I have been running with Year 7 boys. We completed the program in Week 8 and I was very proud of each student and their hard work and contribution to each session.
We learnt about our Strengths, our Worth, Zones of Regulation – emotional regulation, Communication, Feelings, Respect, How To Treat Others. Pictured above are one of the tools we learnt for self-regulation, the boys made their own ‘Calm Jars’.
Have a safe and happy holiday everyone!
Kind regards,
Ms Vangi Evangeli – YouthCARE School Chaplain
