- MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR
This is our last newsletter for 2022, I would like to thank families for the ongoing support provided throughout the school year. The Annual Open meeting on Monday 21st November, was a great reflection and reminder of what was achieved during 2022. Despite the challenges of COVID, programs and school events continued, and students have enjoyed a variety of learning experiences. To the parents of our 2022 leavers, it has been wonderful getting to know you all. The graduation dinner was a great night and a lovely way for students, parents and staff to say goodbye. Thank you to Ms Brennan, Ms Stewart and support staff for organising the event. I wish all the students and their families the very best for the future.
On behalf of the School Board, I would like to formally thank Fran Robb for her time as a parent representative over the past three years. Fran has been an asset to the School Board, her wealth of knowledge, insight and professionalism supported a culture of collaboration and working in the best interests of the students and the school. Thank you also to Gail Stevens for her time on the Board during 2022. Gail has also provided an important parent perspective to support the needs of students and the school.
Digby Claydon has been Board Chair for the past six years. I would like to thank Digby for his ongoing support and dedication to Leeming SHS ESC. Digby has been highly organised and professional in assisting the school to achieve our strategic directions. Digby has transitioned as a parent of a student to a parent of a young man transitioning into life beyond school and his contribution as Board Chair has been excellent. We are very pleased that Digby will continue as a community representative in 2023.
The Board ran a process to elect two new members. We are very pleased to announce that Rebecca Joyce and Olivia Sjahrir have joined the Board as our new parent representatives. Both have experience and a wealth of knowledge that will be very beneficial, and we look forward to working with them in 2022.
We welcome Joss Morgan as the new Board Chair starting in 2023. Joss has been a parent of a student at Leeming Esc and brings a wealth of knowledge and links to organisations through her advocacy and consultancy work. I look forward to working with Joss and the School Board next year as we implement a new school business plan.
As the school years comes to an end, we will farewell our wonderful school chaplain. Vangi is taking on a new chaplaincy role with Fortescue in 2023. She has been an absolute asset to the school, forming wonderful relationships with staff, students and families and will be greatly missed.
We also farewell Coralyn Lester-Smith. Coralyn has been an Education Assistant at Leeming SHS ESC since 2005. She has seen the school grow over the years. We will miss Coralyn’s bubbly personality, great sense of humour and the positive way she builds relationships with students and staff. All the best for your next adventure Coralyn!
Earlier in the term there was an election for 2023 student council representatives. Congratulations to Anisha Manokaran and Phillip Ugle who will represent our students on the Leeming SHS student council in 2023. Oscar Cuff-Caine will continue as the WA State Council representative in 2023. I would like to congratulate all our 2022 student leaders; I have enjoyed the positive energy and brilliant ideas the students bring to their leadership meetings. It is also wonderful to see students developing their understanding of leadership skills and the number of students who want to take on these roles in 2023.
Finally, I would like to acknowledge all the hard work of my staff, they have strived to provide the best possible learning opportunities for our students and should be very proud of what they have achieved together with their students this year.
Have a Merry Christmas and a safe and happy holiday break.
I am not sure about you, but for me 2022 has been a big, full, challenging year. Our board has had some difficult and confronting issues to deal with beyond our usual agenda such as the bus incident, and the ceasing of a year 13 programme in 2023. We have also been overseeing some exciting projects such as the Leeming ESC Alumni. It is hoped that this will provide a valuable connection for former students and their families to stay connected to each other and the school as well as build strategic connections within the broader community to better assist our students (former and current) for their lifetime. I bought this suggestion to the board due to my concerns over life for students post school. This is an example of how our insights as parents are terribly beneficial to Leeming ESC and how important it is to make time to assist the school, such as putting your hand up to join the board. We say goodbye to Gail Stevens and Fran Robb but thank them very much for their contribution. Fran started the Leeming ESC Parents & Carers Facebook Group which now has 75 members and is an important communication channel for our families. We say hello to Olivia Sjahrir, and Rebecca Joyce and look forward to them joining us at our next meeting on Feb 20. Welcome to Kerryn Coles who is taking over from Evelyn Riley. Their skills and knowledge are valuable to our board. Finally, a very big thank you to Digby Clayton who has been on the board since it began in 2017 and served as Chair since 2018. Digby’s time and effort on the board has been immense and he has kept us informed, on time, and on track with dignity and grace. I am relieved that Digby is staying on as a community member as I learn the ropes as Chair.
I wish you all a very safe and peaceful end to your year and start to 2023.
Many thanks,
Joss Morgan (Chair)
It’s a domino effect that starts with a school. A school that offers families a place to learn for their kids that sees them for who they are. It does this by having staff who care. It has these caring staff because they are chosen with care. These staff care because they are cared about and seen for who they are. They may ‘roll’ differently, but that is wonderful because that is part of how our kids are ‘seen’ and see themselves in others, and feel safe and connected, and from there other connections and friendships are made and on and on it goes. That is humanity, community, love, care. It needs to be honoured and honoured far more than society honours academic achievement or sporting ability. So…therefore, the Pink Hair Award. Thank you to Beth Harcourt the artist/creator of ‘Mooshi’ who is the award ‘trophy’. Beth was so touched about the award she made time to travel from the other side of Perth at short notice to attend the assembly.
The inspiration and first winner is Leanne Carter. It is from the fun, warm relationship that developed between my daughter Eve and Leanne. Hearing Eve laugh so loud and hard, the joy on her face and her talking whenever she saw Leanne was magic. Leanne has bright pink hair. I asked Eve one day; would you like pink hair? She immediately said ‘YEH!’. Not the usual. So, I reached out to a new hairdresser just around the corner (logistics are important for us) to see if they could help me give Eve pink hair. Bindi did not hesitate and worked with us to help Eve feel safe and comfortable in the process. It was so wonderful – the joy! Eve, Bindi, me, other staff, and customers.. everyone was grinning. The conversations between Eve and all sorts of people since the pink hair have been many and profound. They mostly wouldn’t have happened without the pink hair. It offers a clue to who Eve is, that is not easily known. It’s a conversation starter when starting a conversation may be feared. Pink hair has made Eve visible in ways she wasn’t before. It’s going to keep her safe and included. It’s going to encourage inclusion by others. It doesn’t need expensive programmes and supports, it needs love, care, and connection. And it started with someone seen for who they are, seeing someone else who can be hidden. Thank you Leanne.

CONGRATULATIONS CLASS OF 2022!
On Tuesday, 14th November, our year 13 students, families and staff shared a beautiful lunch in the Pavillion at the Dome Cafe, Deepwater Point. The weather was glorious and spirits were hight as we united to acknowledge the journey travelled, partnerships forged and friends formed throughout the high school years of these students.
Of course, no ESC event would be complete without seizing a photo opportunity, and our students were at the ready for a perfect paparazzi moment!
Upon reflection, our students had this to say..
David
I went to Dome Café on the banks of the beautiful Canning River and I ate a Chicken Burger and chips. It was a special lunch because I will be finishing school now. My Mum and Dad came. I was with all my friends and the teachers from school. We walked on the jetty. We took photos and I didn’t fall in the water. That’s lucky because I can’t swim. I’ll do lessons next year.
Tania
I went to Deep Water Point with my Mum and Dad and we had lunch at the Dome Café. I also drank Coke. The teachers from school were there too. I wore a pretty dress. We took photos. I was very happy because I like my friends and I was with Maju. It was a bit sad because now my school days are finished and I will be a grown up young lady.
Maju
I ran around near the water at Dome Café. It was very lovely there and it was a beautiful day. I played with Tania. I had lunch. It was a happy day. It was also a very special day with all my friends and teachers from school. School is finished for me now and I am a grown-up young man.

To our Year 13 students and families, we say farewell and wish you every success. Thank you for the memories...they are fond and rich...
MEET RANGER TRAINEE - CRIS DAWSON
Congratulations to Cris Dawson on gaining employment as a First Nations Noongar Ranger Trainee at the City of Melville. Cris was included in the official opening of the Melville Bird Santuary Viewing Platform at Waylen Point in Attadale on 6 December 2022. Well done Cris!

JAYELAN LEE - HIT'S THE GROUND RUNNING
Jayelan's advocacy journey has gained impressive momentum since leaving school. In November, the 'J-Team' were invited to contribute at the School of Special Education Needs: Disability (SSEND) as a part of a professional learning package for future teachers on Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). Between Jayelan's December commitments, we were privileged to again support Jayelan to present at the APM Community Development Forum to Local Area Coordinators (LAC's).
Although this may be the end of the Leeming ESC 'J Team', Jayelan's advocacy has just begun...
The latter half of Term 4, has been a fun and eventful one at our recess and lunch program, Leeming Link.
We have played timber towers (Jenga), made especially for us by our fantastic Mr Z and D & T students. We have made calm jars with an ocean theme, practised our communication skills with conversation cards, enjoyed laughing together while writing our silly story, and got creative with beading.

In the last couple of weeks to finish off 2022, we have kept active playing hockey, made glitter goo, did LEGO building, acted out Christmas charades, and made and ate delicious fruit santas.
There will be many more exciting planned activities in 2023!
Wishing all our families a joyous Christmas, a safe holiday, and a blessed New Year!!!
Warm regards,
Ms Stewart & Ms Vangi

Wow! Its hard to believe the 2022 school year is all done and dusted! We have had our ups and downs during this complicated time, and the resilience of our students has really been put on display. A massive thank you to everyone for staying so positive!
This term, we have been on our ESC1 camp to Pinjarra. We went out to search for the Mandurah Giants and were able to find two of them! It was a wonderful walk and although it did get a bit warm, it didn’t slow us down. The next day, we went for a walk through the town of Pinjarra along the famous heritage trail. It was amazing to see the old, historical buildings of the town and crossing the suspension bridge. When we returned to camp, we took part in an archery challenge. Mrs Long, Raymond and Ezra all managed to hit the bullseye! On the final day, we had a chance to use the flying fox and giant swing. All the students tried their best and we had tonnes of fun.

As the year concludes, I want to wish our Leeming family a safe and happy holiday period. I also want to pass on my sincerest thanks to Kylee Long, Leanne Carter and Tiana Lomax for their hard work this year. I couldn’t have made it through without you guys, you’re amazing! Kylee, we will miss you next year!
Lachlan Frewer
What a year! It feels like the time has flown by, it is time to say goodbye to my wonderful ESC 2 class.
We have had so much fun in our year 10 class this year, and I am truly humbled to have shared the year with Oscar, Mitch, Jackson, Raggy, Mikail, Corey, Cameron and Kooper. They have all developed so much throughout 2022 and should be very proud of their achievements. I can’t wait to see what lies ahead for all of you.
You will mature and grow into a strong group of men that will be able to conquer any dream that you have! Moving forward, I wish you all the best in picking a successful and fulfilling path in life.
To all the families, you have all been amazing to work with and without your support, your boys would not be the fine young men that they already are.
Finally, to my wonderful team Deb, Tanya, Kate, and Colleen. Your support and teamwork have been incredible, and I cannot thank you enough. The resilience that you have all shown throughout the year has taught me a lot. Thank you.
Wishing everyone a safe and merry holiday season!
Merry Christmas!
Dallas Holdsworth

Ms Parwani - Teacher ESC3
Hi all!
Just like that, it’s the end of term 4! What an amazing journey it has been.
In the last newsletter of the year, I would like to take the opportunity to congratulate each of our boys. To Nick, Luke, Ryan, Ryley, Isaiah, Joaquin, Ethan, Branden and Toby, congratulations on successfully completing year 10. You should all be so proud of yourselves. I feel honoured to have watched such a wonderful group of boys mature into responsible, hardworking young adults. I look forward to seeing more of your amazing achievements next year. To all of the families, I wish you all a safe and restful holidays. You have all been amazing to work with and your flexibility has been incredible. Merry Christmas!
Thank you!

Mathematics:
Students have been exploring the differences between Theoretical Probability and Experimental Probability as part of their study of the concept of “statistics and probability”. They found this practical and hands-on approach exceedingly inspiring. They also participated in other number sense learning activities including the addition, subtraction, and division of numbers as well as money skills involving the calculation of change. These in-class activities were reinforced with authentic learning opportunities through our community access program (Community Based Learning). Students undertook some word problems encompassing the four basic mathematical operations. I am delighted to acknowledge that my students have made outstanding progress in mathematics this term.
English:
Students have employed the “Look, Say, Cover, Write and Check” strategy effectively in practising their sight words during our morning routines in literacy this semester. By way of extension, they are learning to write their personal details such as home address as part of their literacy activities. Independent reading and writing were among our focus areas in English. Students participated in regular reading and writing exercises which manifested in increased confidence and fluency. Students also had opportunities to write on various topics related to kindness and being good friends at school and home. One of the highlights of our literacy activities this term was the opportunity to make a Christmas card and write a message of goodwill for other students in the classroom to promote friendship and unity.
Social Skills:
The social skills program and instruction for this term revolved around caring for each other - both within and outside the classroom. This is in alignment with our whole-school Positive Behaviour Support initiative, targeted at teaching ‘Unity’, ‘Self-Responsibility’, ‘Teamwork’, ‘Achievement’ and ‘Respect’ (otherwise known as USTAR values) to our students. A wide range of instructional approaches including brainstorming, role-playing, and researching skills have been utilised to teach these values. A considerable amount of instructional effort and time have also been expended in teaching the application of these values in students’ day-to-day lives.
End of year Message from ESC 5 Team
On behalf of our staff and students, I wish to thank all parents for their amazing support and cooperation throughout this school year. As a teacher, I have really enjoyed working with you and your children. I also want to use this opportunity to thank our students for being keen learners - I know I will miss you all next year. To my staff team, thanks a million for your commitment and dedication. I wish you all Merry Christmas and prosperous New Year.
We cannot believe how fast 2022 has flown by in ESC 6! We have had an amazing year in our beautiful class, and enjoyed being the first ever ‘Girls Only’ class! We are so proud of how far our students have come this year, and they should be very proud of their many achievements.
The second half of this term has been very busy! We have enjoyed going on CBL to Leeming Forum. While shopping we found the appropriate shops for different items, located items and prices, practised crossing the road safely and reviewed our community behaviours. In week 9, we got to share a snack and some drinks at the café as an end of term treat! We also had a Constable Care incursion as part of our CBL program which was great to take part in.
We have continued with our love of science this semester and learnt about all the different planets in our solar system. We love using a song and dance to remember all the names of the planets. We enjoyed showing this to our parents on the Family Open Day. This was a great way to celebrate our achievements this year, thank you to everyone that came along.
Leeming’s Got Talent in week 8, was a highlight, with lots of our students performing acts including singing, dancing and karate! We were busy this term working on our dance for assembly. The girls did such a fantastic job at practising and helping each other. They also did a wonderful job for their first time running assembly as part of the year 7 cohort.
In week 8 we completed learning about our Communication Toolboxes. We identified all the different ways that we communicate with each other and celebrated how we have many forms of communicating in our room. We have also looked at what we can do independently, and what activities we need support with. We have identified our likes and dislikes and our interests. All of these skills will support us in advocating for ourselves and taking on a bigger role in our goal-setting.

Thank you to our ESC 6 team. We have had a great year together with everyone supporting each other to provide the best possible year for our girls!
We have had a fantastic year in ESC 6 and wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Enjoy your much-deserved break and we will see you all back for 2023!
We have had a great end to the year together in ESC 7. Students have enjoyed a number of informative incursions this term where they learned about the importance of CPR and using the DRS ABCD acronym to remember the steps. With summer in full swing and the likelihood of encountering a snake increasing, the students also learned how to effectively treat a snake bite.
This term students have also enjoyed engaging in numerous cooking activities in class, with their favourites being reindeer cookies and a white Christmas slice.

It has been a great year filled with learning and laughter and we can’t wait to see what year 9 holds for these amazing students.
We wish you all a very safe and restful Christmas and New Year.
With love from the team in ESC 7
Kaya noonakort (Hello everyone),
It is hard to believe that we are already writing the last newsletter article for 2022. What an amazing year 8 class! I can’t believe how quickly the year has gone, and how much we’ve achieved together. Term 4 has kept us extremely busy with many fun events.
We welcomed parents into the classroom on Family Day, and the students showcased their communication skills to include Auslan finger-spelling, key word signs, and sang in the Noongar language.
Riley shined during his performance of Ed Sheeran’s, 'Shivers' at Leeming’s Got Talent.
We listened to a presentation from DPAW Marine Ranger, Matt, and had the opportunity to be hands on looking at a variety of marine artefacts. William asked many informative questions.
Adrian, James, and Ms Xavier attended a three-day Sports and Bush Ranger Leadership Camp at Rottnest enjoying the beautiful blue waters.
Liam was awarded the Leeming ESC Physical Education Award for his enthusiasm, excitement, competitiveness and encouragement. Liam is an excellent leader, always putting his hand up to participate in sporting events to represent our school. Congratulations on this tremendous achievement YEar 8's!!
We congratulated JJ and Adrian with PBS USTAR assembly certificates.
We finished up the year with a fabulous family day of fun at Fishability. The students are to be commended on working safely outdoors and displaying the schools PBS USTAR values. Students listened and engaged respectfully with the Fishability mentors and enjoyed fishing with a high level of self -responsibility. It was wonderful to share the day with families to celebrate the end of 2022.

We would like to acknowledge the phenomenal support and commitment from families this year. It has been heart-warming to share many special and fun moments together. Thank you! We are looking forward to our end of year celebration with a wonderful fun PBS Family Day.
A huge congratulations to all our students! You are all USTARS for demonstrating Unity, Self-Responsibility, Teamwork, Achievement and Respect. Through demonstrating these school values, students have earned points and selected PBS prizes.
We really want to acknowledge the boys and thank their parents for raising such wonderful young men. It has been very rewarding to work with nine incredible students who show such kindness, good manners, and respect.
And an enormous thank you to our amazing and dedicated team of educators - Hailey Louise, Chanel Xavier, Luca Farmer and Jaimee Coles.
Oh, the Places You'll Go! (1990). You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes.
You can steer yourself any direction you choose. Warm wishes.
Thank you and boordawan, Lorraine Vann.
As term 4 comes to an end, we start to wind down and reflect on all of the achievements we have made individually, and the memories we have created together in 2022. We have started to get into the Christmas spirit, and put up and decorated our class Christmas tree as a team, including the naughty or nice bauble which is always watching us! The bauble has stayed green so far, so we know we must be impressing our teachers (and you know who's in the North Pole) with our mature, responsible and positive behaviours.
We are starting to wrap up our term 4 programs. This term in Health we have learned about exercise and changes that happen to your body during and after and the health benefits. We conducted an experiment in class and compared how our bodies and mind felt before and after 15 mins of exercise. In HASS we have continued our learning on past and present, and have enjoyed comparing toys, transport, forms of communication, technology, schooling and clothing from the past to now.
In Maths, we have been learning about place value, and Australian flora in Bush Rangers.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank my WONDERFUL year 7.3 class Connor, Chris, Maleyk, Dkhan, Kelly, Abdul, Halo and Hanna. I have had an amazing year working with you all, and have loved being your teacher. I am so proud of all of your achievements, and of the young adults you are growing into. I can’t wait to watch you continue your journey at Leeming. Thank you to the ESC9 parents/carers for your support and kindness, and a HUGE thank you to my Education Assistants Mrs Sajjay, Miss Mitchell and Miss Chatfield.
Merry Christmas and a happy and safe holiday break. See you all in 2023!
Miss Gage
It’s always a mad dash to the finishing line as we approach the end of another year at Leeming ESC!
This group of year 8’s has continued to amaze me every day with their determination, resilience and happy nature, despite the last weeks being full on. It’s hard to remember how shy and quiet they all were at the beginning of their high school adventures last year, they have certainly 'come out of their shells' and developed academically and socially.
Over the last five weeks, we have been busy with incursions with St John’s and the Marine Conservation crew. We have travelled to Southlands Boulevard as part of CBL and some of our girls even had the opportunity to go on the Leadership camp to Rottnest!

I am so very proud of each and every one of these students. It has been my pleasure to be their teacher over the last two years and I cannot wait to see all that they will achieve in the future.
I would also like to thank the incredible staff who make every day possible in ESC 10. Without their support and guidance, our classroom would not run so smoothly.
Thank you to Miss Russell, Mrs T-J and Ms Palma. You are worth your weight in gold.
I wish everyone a safe and happy holiday! See you all bright eyed and bushy tailed in 2023!
Ms Caitlyn Knox
Just like that, the entire year has passed and we are left to reflect on the awesome year everyone in ESC11 has had. There have been many challenges along the way, but I am truly proud of all eight of the boys and all three of my amazing EA's who have persevered through the year and excelled. Each of them have demonstrated courage, strength, kindness, teamwork, reliability, enthusiasm and respect which they should all be commended for.
During the second half of this term we have completed our space buggies which we created using recycled materials from home. We then raced them down a slope to test the effectiveness of their designs and each was given a score out of 10 on their rolling and overall design. This term we also had our Year 9 Camp, where we stayed in Dwellingup for two nights. The camp was an amazing experience and it was very pleasing to see all the students and staff embrace each activity, have a wonderful time, while learning about the native flora and fauna in the area.

Mr Calasse and Team ESC11
The time to say goodbye has finally arrived. I feel so emotional as I shared a very special bond with my students, their families and my awesome team of EA’s. The students have matured and grown in all aspects and I am proud to have taught them this year and be a part of their learning journey at Leeming ESC.
The last five weeks have been the busiest with camp, students preparing Christmas presents for their families, completing assessments and incomplete tasks. Last few weeks, students have been watching movies to identify the characters, setting, and main idea of the story.
We all farewelled Ginger and wish her good luck at her new school.
I would like to thank all families for always supporting me and being so proactive.
A big shout out to my amazing, awesome and dedicated EAs Ms Brewer, Mrs Blacklock and Mrs Owen for their endless contribution this year.
Wishing all students and their families a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.
Deepika Khosla
As this very busy year draws to a close, it is time to sit back and reflect on all the fantastic activities and accomplishments of the wonderful students in ESC 13.
The key focus for this term has been finishing off subjects, including ASDAN, Preliminary Units in Maths and Literacy, CBL and Bush Rangers, to name a few. I am very proud of the students’ hard work and success in passing all subjects with flying colours. Apart from working hard in class, students have also participated in lots of fun activities outside the classroom. The excursion to the Perth Museum was a great highlight and the students practised their travel training skills using public transport to and from the museum. While exploring the fascinating exhibits, the students demonstrated responsible and respectful behaviour, and were great ambassadors for the school.
Another highlight this term has been the year 11 camp to Lake Leschenaultia. Two of the three Year 11 classes attended, and it was a wonderful break from school and a chance to get back to nature. Students visited local historical sites, such as the Town of York and the Residency Museum. To consolidate their Bush Rangers learning, students participated in the Bush Wisdom activities presented by Vanessa. This involved learning survival skills to use when lost in the bush and finding out about some of our indigenous reptiles. A highlight was meeting the snakes and lizards in the care of Vanessa and getting to handle them. On the last day, we journeyed to the Perth Hills Discovery Centre in Mundaring to attend the ‘Nearer to Nature’ program. Students learned about and interacted with a number of native animals, including the Echidna, Black Carnaby Cockatoos, Possums and baby Joeys. Everyone had a wonderful and relaxing time on camp and it was a great way to end off the school year.

It has been a great pleasure to teach the students in ESC 13 this year, and I know they will have a successful and exciting Year 12. To all students and families, have a wonderful Christmas and a safe and relaxing holiday break.
Students completed a Self-Advocacy Course this term facilitated by DDWA (Developmental Disability WA). It was great to see the class learn about their rights and responsibilities as they become young adults.
We also enjoyed our camp at Lake Leschenaultia this term. On day one we travelled to York. Students visited the Residency Museum where they learnt about local history and engaged with games such as croquet and horse shoe throwing.
On day two, we had the pleasure of Vanessa, from Bush Wisdom, visit us to teach bush survival skills. She also brought along a few scaly friends to hold for those that were brave enough! We then had a lovely picnic and walk around Lake Leschenaultia before visiting the Mundaring Sculpture Park.
On the last day we went to the Perth Hills Discovery Centre. Mr C ran our Nearer to Nature Program. This included an animal encounter with some fluffy and spiky creatures, followed by a bush walk where we learnt about native plants and animals.
Camp was a great way to finish the year together. Students showed team work and bravery when trying new things and encouraged each other to do the same. I am very proud of all students achievements this year, and wish them the very best for their continued learning journey in 2023!

Hello!
What a year! It feels like the time has flown by and it is time to say goodbye to my wonderful ESC 17 class.
We have had so much fun in ESC 17 this year and I am truly grateful to have shared the year with my wonderful team of Candace Botha, Edith Murugan and Kym Buchanan. They have been a massive support and I couldn’t have done it without them. Every student, Archer, Billy, Brock, Jai, Goldie, Janelle, Phillip, Star and Ari have developed so much across 2022 and they should all be very proud of their achievements. I am lucky to have played a small part in their school journey. I wish them all the best moving into senior school next year.
I look forward to seeing more of your amazing achievements in the coming years. To all of the families, I wish you all a safe and restful holidays. You have all been amazing to work with and your support has been incredible. Merry Christmas!
Thank you!

PHYS ED - MISS HEARD, MISS LEHEMBRE, MISS HAWKES & MS PEREIRA
The inaugural Kalability All Stars Rapid Fire Cricket Carnival was held on the 23rd November at Hartfield Park in Forrestfield. The carnival was attended by Perth Scorchers program coordinators, who provided wonderful inspiration to the enthusiastic participants. Leeming ESC registered a combined team of students from Year 7 and 8, who participated in a rapid fire round robin format. They put on an enthusiastic display, demonstrating wonderful USTAR values of Team Work, Achievement, and Unity.
All participants should be commended for their wonderful behaviour shown throughout the tournament. They represented the school with pride and narrowly missed out on being awarded top honours after winning 3 out of their 4 games. Awesome effort!

Students have been involved in a program, run by the Special Olympics, during Term 4. Students were taught fundamental movement skills, completing hand-eye coordination activities and participating in modified games. They all thoroughly enjoyed this program. A big thank you goes out to the Special Olympics for developing such a rewarding program.
We farewell Ms Hawkes & Miss Lehembre at the end of this year. Ms Hawkes will continue to do relief at the school and Miss Lehembre will be continuing her masters’ study. Thank you both so much for your hard work throughout the year! We will miss you!
Thanks for a great year everyone. I am looking forward to 2023!
At our final assembly for the year Karleigh received the Employee of the Month Award. Karleigh is to be commended for her hard work at Australia Post. She consistently approached her work with a good attitude and remained on task sorting and labelling many parcels throughout the semester. Karleigh has been working very hard on her customer service skills. She should be so proud of these achievements. Well done Karleigh!
It has been an exciting year! The Workplace Learning Program has supported over 60 senior students to practice a variety of industry skills. We have welcomed a number of new organisations - Baby Bunting, Bentley Community Garden, Canning Community Men’s Shed, Fremantle Accident Repair Centre and TDL Landscaping at Optus Stadium.
Students and host employers celebrated the end of their placements sharing a token gift to show appreciation to the community that we work within.

We wish all families a happy holiday break and look forward to seeing you all in 2023!
