We acknowledge the Whadjuk people of the Noongar nation as the traditional custodians of the land and its waters and pay respect to their elders, past, present and emerging.
Term 3 started with IEP and My Plan meetings with families, discussing student progress and setting meaningful goals for second semester. I encourage you to keep regular communication with your child’s teacher and classroom staff throughout the semester, through Seesaw or student diaries. For attendance, please inform classroom teachers or notify the school on 9237 6870 or SMS 043751929 if your child is away. For unexplained absences, a phone call will be made to parents or carers and an automated message will be sent by 10:00am if there has been no correspondence to explain an absence.
Term 3 is packed with fun events and activities, starting with the Annual Disco on Friday 29th July. This was once again a huge hit with students and I would like to sincerely thank Torii Hammel, Janet Bruns and the Disco Committee for organising such a fantastic event. Thank you also to staff who volunteered their time on a Friday night to help set up, supervise or clean up at the end of the night and a special mention should also go to our DJ superstar, Jenelle Heard. The positive energy, passion and care provided by staff, made the Disco a very enjoyable and memorable experience for students. Thank you Tanya Payne for the beautiful photos taken on the night, the costumes and smiling faces say it all!
Multicultural Day celebrated the cultural diversity at Leeming SHS and Leeming SHS ESC on Friday 19th August. This was a very special day to enjoy inclusivity and diversity between our two schools. The food, activities and performances created a wonderful atmosphere. A very special thank you must go to Cathy Houden and our School Chaplain, Vangi Evangelia for coordinating this special event in collaboration with Leeming SHS. It gets bigger and better every year.
To support student transition pathways, an exciting Discovery pilot program was introduced in partnership with Valued Lives and Leeming ESC for our senior students. The growth in student’s ability to self-advocate their strengths, talents and passions was showcased at a Student Connect Networking Event with a range of providers. I enjoyed watching students involved and actively participating in meeting with providers, showcasing their portfolios. Thank Louisa FP, for creating a wonderful partnership to support our student transition pathways. The quote below from Maxima highlights how well students conducted themselves with confidence on the night.
“We were completely blown away by the students’ portfolios, the range and professionalism of content was very impressive.
The Students were very engaging, and really enjoyed telling us what sort of jobs they were looking for, what experience they had already had, and what they absolutely DIDN’T want to do! Maxima are looking forward to helping families with any enquiries regarding SLES funding, and can’t wait for the next Expo.”
There are many more exciting events coming up this term to celebrate as a school community, including the athletics carnival and Leeming Pop Up Shops. I look forward to seeing families at these events and connecting as a school community.
The full impact of COVID has been challenging on staffing this year and I would like to thank staff for their ongoing support to make sure programs and special events continue for our students.

The Board meeting was held virtually on July 25th. We had a discussion with Chris Chambers from People with Disabilities WA on their skills in providing support to organisations in relation to mentoring, training and grant writing. This will be further explored at a meeting on Friday 19th August.
The Board considered questions for the Parent Survey, the new enrolment policy effective from July 2022, our current enrolment numbers for 2023 and Year 13 (which will no longer be offered).
We are delighted that one of our year 10 students has been nominated to seek a position on the WA Student Council.
The Board considered the process of the Annual Open Meeting and aligned this with a Family Open Day on Monday, November 21st 2022.
A schedule of the Parent Network Meetings was tabled and we discussed the operation of the Local Area Coordinator who visits the school to assist families with NDIS issues.
The Board was taken through the revisions to the Attendance and Bus Policy.
Our meetings for the remainder of the year are 5th September, 24th October and 28th November, with the Annual Open Meeting on 21st, November.
Kind regards to all of the school community

STUDENT SAFETY - CHANGES TO PARENT DROP OFF AND BUS PROCEDURES - DEPUTY PRINCIPAL EVELYN RILEY
Student Safety:
CHANGES TO PARENT DROP OFF AND BUS PROCEDURES
Leeming ESC has done a full review of our morning parent drop off and bus procedures.
This review has led to important changes, these include:
1.Buses will drop off students at the Administration office if they arrive after 8.30am.
2.Dedicated staff have been allocated to the bus and parent drop-off area and wear hi-vis jackets to be easily identifiable.
3.Parents who need to drop their children at school after 8.30am will need to bring them to the front office and sign them in. This a Department requirement to ensure student safety
Previously, staff have waited at parent drop off for more than 30 minutes, this is time when they are needed in the classroom to support the students. We apologise if this causes any inconvenience.
Thank you for your support during the remainder of 2022

The first half of Term 3 has been a fun and busy time at Leeming Link.

Each week on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays we have activities during both recess and lunch, for our students to participate in.
A few of the activities on offer this term are: Twister, Shaving Cream Fun, Chalk Drawing, Helicopter Spinners, Oobleck, Celebrity Heads and Toasties.

We look forward to more fun activities in the 2nd half of Term 3.
See you all there!
Ms Stewart & Ms Vangi
ESC1 has had a great start to semester two. Students are beginning to settle into their new work placements and we are receiving some very positive feedback about how much they enjoy them! We have had some fantastic discussions about the new skills we are learning and new friends we have met during the ADWPL program.
As part of our preliminary English program, we have been scrutinizing bullying. Students are identifying behaviours that constitute bullying and developing strategies to prevent bullying from occurring. We have also looked at different types of bullying, such as cyber-bullying and social bullying.
In our mathematics program, students in the preliminary course have been planning a CBL trip to Cockburn Gateways. Students have been looking at timetabling in order to leave school and return at an appropriate time. We have also planned a budget to make purchases at the shop, buy lunch and save emergency money. Students enrolled in the foundation course have explored recipes that can be made in cooking using a range of measurements and measuring apparatus.
I would like to thank all the parents for their ongoing support to start the semester, and their participation during our My Plan meetings. They have been incredibly positive and informative with some great goals for the remainder of school and beyond. I would also like to thank the staff for their hard work and dedication. They have allowed us to make amazing progress on all of our course work and provide a hugely positive learning environment for all. We are saying goodbye to Mrs Enright and wish her all the very best for the birth of her baby.
Mr Frewer, Mrs Carter, Mrs Enright and Mrs Long.
Half way through term 3…time flies when you’re having fun!
We have had a jam packed term, starting with Industry visits. Students have had the opportunity to visit different companies to gauge their interest for work placement in term 4. We have visited Containers for Change, Alinea and Good Will Engineering to name a few. Students have loved seeing their options and thinking about their future work choices.
So far this term, we have been very spoilt with a lot of cake in our room as we celebrated a milestone birthday for Ms Thompson and Mikail turning the big 16! Huge Happy Birthdays to them!

In the last half of term 3, we have a CBL visit to Optus Stadium and camp to Fairbridge in Pinjarra, in addition to a sports carnival, Multi Cultural Day and Pop Up Shop Market Day (which our students have been working super hard for) all to come between weeks 5 and 10!!
Busy but fun times ahead for ESC 2.
Mr Holdsworth, Ms Payne, Ms Brayne, Ms Putland and Ms Munza.
It has been such a busy term and we have hit the ground running from day 1! It was lovely to meet most of the parents for the first time at the recent My Plans meeting and heart warming to see students making good progress in their journey of self-discovery.
Last semester our year 10 students had their first taste of work experience at Striker Recreation Centre. This has been a fantastic opportunity to learn about the expectations of the workplace, as well as developing work readiness routines such as hygiene, keeping uniforms clean, keeping tidy workplaces and solving problems that may arise in the workplace. We are so proud of everything our students have achieved.
We have also had the opportunity to visit several companies this term such as Ability’s Containers for Change and Alinea. We are so grateful to these organisations for hosting our students. It has been a 'real eye' opener for the students to get real-world perspectives on different functions within an organisation. It will help give our students the opportunity to make up their minds about their future job or area of interest.
This term, our students have celebrated 100 days of school in 2022 with a range of exciting projects. ESC3 even listed 100 things they wanted to do before the end of the school year. In Mathematics, we have been learning to sharpen our skills in reading the clocks and learning the concept of elapsed time.
We have also been preparing tirelessly for our upcoming Pop up Shop on 6th September. Our class have been making chalks and chalk boards. We will be sending out the order forms soon. Please support our enterprise.

I would also like to welcome Shane Wilson who just joined our school. Shane loves playing soccer and his favourite team is West Coast Eagles.
The next couple of weeks will be filled with lots of events such as AFL Carnival, Sports Carnival, Multicultural Day, Pop up Shops, class camp… so watch this space!
Ms Parwani, Mrs Johsnon, Mrs Mahalingam, Mrs Shivers, Mrs Hales
It is hard to believe that we are already half way through Term 3! We have been very busy in ESC4 getting ready for the Pop Up Shops. We started by looking at different charities and chose to donate to HAART animal rescue for abused and homeless animals. One of our students, Luke, volunteers for this charity in his spare time with his family. We thought it would be a great idea to make dog toys and pet treats to raise the money to donate to this charity. Our students looked up different ways to make dog toys and brainstormed what materials we might need. We have been having lots of fun and experimentation with making them, and we are excited for the big day where we get to raise some money from all of our hard work!
We have also been practising our cooking skills as part of our independent life skills program. The students have been researching easy meals to make for breakfast, lunch and dinner and downloading the recipes. They have then had to look up the cost of ingredients, write grocery lists, figure out a budget, and then they have had the opportunity to find the ingredients while on CBL. Each fortnight the students have the opportunity to make a meal of choice. Along with this, they are consolidating their measuring skills and awareness of safety hazards in the kitchen. We discovered that scrambled eggs on toast is a favourite amongst all of our boys!

In maths, the students have been working hard with budgeting and calculating change. Students are becoming more confident with reading bus timetables and learning to use the Transperth app to plan journeys. All of our students are progressing with maturity and understand that these are skills that they will need once they graduate high school in two years.
From the ESC 4 team,
Miss Arndt, Miss Hamel, Mrs Maunder and Ms Riley.
Mathematics: The Year 7.1 students are having a productive term acquiring, practising and consolidating different mathematical skills in accordance with their individual ability levels. While some students have been deepening their comprehension of number sense by learning the fundamental algorithms for using a number line, partitioning whole numbers, and solving missing number problems (addition and subtractions), others have been familiarising themselves with solving simple algebraic expressions, understanding number patterns, and handling problems related to arithmetic progression. These students also investigated the profiles of selected athletes who participated in the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. They had fun calculating the number of medals won by Australia and the monetary values of gold, silver and bronze medals. Regular opportunities have been provided for students to learn skip-counting by twos, threes, fours, fives, and tens as part of their mental maths challenge. Currently, students are studying the language of probability.
English and Community Based Learning Areas: The year 7.1 students went on an excursion this term to the Leeming “All Foods Market IGA” aimed at providing authentic instructional dimension to their Social Skills and Protective Behaviour curricula. During this trip, students had ample opportunity to practise a wide range of skills that they have been studying in the classroom in real-life situations. These included walking as a group, road crossing skills (under staff guidance), and how to interact appropriately with members of the community. While in the shops, students embraced the opportunity to reinforce their money skills in an authentic learning environment (e.g. ordering drinks from IGA and paying for lunch). It was great to observe them demonstrating pleasant social etiquette while buying their own lunch, sitting together at a table and eating together (e.g. eating respectfully and displaying excellent table manners). Also students have been busy learning reading comprehension, spelling their sight words, and engaging in various types of writing.
Bush Ranger: The year 7.1 Cadet students have been exploring a wide range of practical nature conservation projects. They selected and planned their responses to protecting the school native birds which resulted in using biodegradable materials to build a bird feeder. The students shifted their bird feeder from one part of the school to the other at reasonable intervals of time to make it accessible to a wider bird community. They have also been actively engaged in learning activities associated with recycling as a way of slowing down environmental degradation, conserving natural resources and perpetuating energy supplies. They have learned to discriminate between the functions of yellow, green, and red bins. Thus, students passionately sorted everyday materials correctly into the three bins and confidently justified their decisions.

Mrs Enoma, Ms Temple, Ms Banks, and Ms Broadhurst.
In ESC 6 we have had a very busy start to Term 3. At the start we welcomed our new EA, Miss V, and we are loving having her as part of our class. This term we are ‘Spreading Kindness like Confetti’ and writing kindness notes to our friends and staff. This has been awesome so far, as we learned how good it feels to be kind to others and to receive kindness from others.
In week 1, we were lucky enough to have some Australian animals come to our school for an incursion. In Bush Rangers we have been learning about different Australian animals and it was great to see some in real life. We got to pat a koala and a dingo. We were also very brave and touched some snakes! Some of us even put the snake around our neck!

We have also been busy learning all about the athletes and sports in the Commonwealth Games. We have been keeping track of the medal tally and recording all of Australia’s medals. It has helped us practise counting up very high because Australia won so many medals! We are looking forward to our school athletics carnival later this term, and have started practising during PE lessons.
We have lots to look forward to this term with the sports carnival, Pop Up Shops, Multicultural Day, Book Week, a TransPerth incursion and Community Based Learning outings. We are eagerly looking forward to the Pop Up Shops as we have been very busy making a range of items to sell, and can’t wait for everyone to see them!
Miss Blackburn, Ms Musson, Mrs Bregger and Ms Van Der Zwaan.
ESC 7 have had a busy start to Term 3 with a variety of opportunities had by all the students. We began the term with a visit from OZ animals, where we met a koala, a dingo, and two snakes.

Then we had a visit from the people at Transperth who taught us how to follow timetables correctly and how to tag on and off the bus successfully. We are practising our new skills from Transperth by using the buses to go on CBL (Community Based Learning) to Bull Creek each fortnight.
The disco was a fun night with students showing their best moves on the dance floor and having a fantastic time. We still have many more exciting activities lined up this term, including Multicultural Day, Pop-up shops, and various sports carnivals.
In class, we have been learning about puberty and emotions, discussing how that affects our bodies and way of thinking. In Health, ESC 7 have been learning all about healthy eating and taking care of our bodies. In Science, we have been creating mould samples! With lots of option classes and all the activities planned, it is shaping up to be a great Term 3.
Ms Chambers, Ms Smith, Mrs Chamberlain, Ms Jones
It has been a fast-paced term and the weeks are flying past already.
We have been very lucky to welcome the lovely Miss Farmer to our Year 8 team. Miss Farmer has quickly become a part of our class family, building strong connections with the students and staff.
Many of the students and staff dressed up and had an evening of music, dance and fun at the school disco.
We have also, experienced a wonderful incursion from Transperth teaching the students about the different modes of transport, how to stay safe and manage an emergency.
WestOz visited and brought along a koala, snake and dingo for the students to pat and provided the opportunity to learn about our amazing Australian animals.

We celebrated, National Tree Day! The Year 8 classes received 30 native plants provided through the Phosphorus Awareness Project grant (SERCUL) South East Regional Centre for Urban Landcare obtains these from the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions. As part of caring for the environment, the students planted seedlings into the Aboriginal Garden. Thank you, Natasha Bowden from SERCUL for the seedlings and your ongoing support year after year!

In Bush Rangers our focus is on Endangered Animals, and the students have researched the Marri tree and the many animals that rely on trees for their home, food and shelter, including the Koala, Chuditch, Carnaby Cockatoo and the Numbat. In the coming weeks, we will investigate the predators and acknowledge, Threatened Species Day, on September 7th.
Our term continues to be jam-packed as we look forward to completing the People First Program (Protective Behaviours), Athletics Carnival, Pop Up Shop, Multicultural Day, New Beginnings to an Old Story (Aboriginal Day), Book Week and finishing the term with a family fun day with Fishability.
I also wish to acknowledge and thank the great ESC 8 team, Mrs Louise, Mr C, Mrs Xavier and Miss Farmer, because their hard work and dedication makes all the difference. Thank you!
Mrs Vann, Mrs Louise, Mr C and Mrs Xavier.
It is incredible to believe we are half way through term 3 already, and the hard work continues here in ESC9. In week 1 we concluded our Bush Rangers program focusing on Australian fauna with a hands-on learning incursion from West Oz Wildlife. We loved meeting Yappa the dingo, Juno the koala and the two snakes we got to feel and even hold them if we were feeling brave enough!
This term in HASS we have been learning about the world around us by comparing homes from around the world and mapping ourselves on the globe. In week 5 we celebrated Multicultural Week. We learned about the different cultures and family history within our own classroom and made a display of the world map to show where our families are originally from. We experienced different arts and crafts, music, dance and foods from around the world at recess as part of our celebrations.
Semester 2 brings us some new experiences and opportunities to learn and practice our independence during our upcoming Community Based Lifeskills (CBL) program. In weeks 5, 7 and 9 the year 7.3 students will be heading out into the community for the first time to consolidate our road crossing skills, shopping skills and community behaviours. CBL is always a crowd favourite, and we are all so excited to learn and further develop our transport skills by using public transport next term.
ESC9 is also beginning the preparation for the Leeming ESC Pop-Up Shops…Stay tuned!
Miss Gage, Ms Sajjay, Ms Mitchell and Miss Chatfield.
What an incredible start to Term 3! We’ve been busy getting everything ready for Pop-Up Shops in Week 8. We hope to see you there! We are selling Lanyards for $8, Key Rings for $1-$2 and Gnomies for $2.
There are so many option classes that the students have been enjoying this term, such as Art, Digitech, Fitness, D&T, STEAM and Computer (just to name a few!).

The Disco was so much fun! All ESC 10 staff attended (in costume!) and our students looked amazing!

Although we’re not going on CBL this term, our students are really enjoying our Boys and Girls Groups to discuss puberty and the ‘real’ teen issues.
Check out some photos of how busy we’ve been!

Ms Knox, Miss Russell, Mrs T-J and Ms Palma
The new semester has started off with a bang in ESC11! We began with everyone sharing all their amazing stories and photos from what they 'got up to' over the holidays. We then got straight back into the groove of things, taking our first steps towards preparing our items for the pop up shops. The class has shown some amazing creativity in decorating shopping bags with paint and fabric markers which we will be selling, donating half of our proceeds to Native Arc in Bibra Lake.
Term 3 has also meant the beginning of CBL for ESC11. The class has travelled to Bull Creek Shopping Centre where we practised locating specific items within Woolworths and Target, and recording the cheapest prices for each. In sport, our class has been working with students from The University of Notre Dame where each student has been paired up with a Notre Dame buddy to participate in an organised sport program. All the students have loved interacting with their buddy and telling them all about our amazing school.

Mr Calasse, Mrs Bruns, Mrs Harcourt and Mrs Hewer.
What an exciting term this is turning out to be! The students in ESC 12 are very motivated leading up to the Pop-Up Market stalls and this shows in the amazing range of products that they are preparing to sell. Start saving your coins for some truly incredible bargains.

Each Friday the students are engaged in a Phys Ed program with students from The University of Notre Dame. This mentoring has many benefits for both our students and those from the University. Our students learn valuable skills which will be used in school Phys Ed and fitness lessons and well into the future. An amazing program with positive vibes all round!

Our class has engaged in several CBL excursions this term, jam-packed with valuable community learning. The skills acquired in so many areas are to be admired – public transport proficiency, how to behave in public, buying your own lunch with or without support and great manners all round. These are just a few of the things being taught. Over a short period of time, the level of improvement has been remarkable. All students are to be congratulated for their efforts and attitude.
Last but not least is the exciting news that a new student has joined our class. Her name is Tehzeeb Syed and her arrival has positively excited our class group. She has been warmly welcomed and has settled in very quickly. It is a pleasure to have her in our class with her wonderful work ethic and smiling face.

With such a terrific term in progress it’s hard to imagine how Term 4 could get any better……but we know it will!
Mrs Lee (on behalf of Mrs Khosla), Mrs Owen, Ms Brewer and Ms Blacklock
This term, the students in 11.2 have been hard at work with CBL program, making up for time lost to Covid. As part of their ADSAN learning, the students have been exploring different places to go in the community. With three exciting trips to Westfield Booragoon, students practised their travel training, protective behaviours and money handling skills. During each CBL outing, the students were excellent ambassadors for the school, demonstrating respect, maturity and great teamwork. Each student is to be commended on their excellent behaviour, beautiful manners and positive engagement with the community

The 11.2 students are showing more confidence when navigating the Transperth Journey Planner website, to identify which buses and trains to catch to various CBL destinations. Online, students are having fun deciding where they would like to visit in the community. Thus far, we have Kings Park, Sci Tech, the Perth Zoo and the Bell Tower at Elizabeth Quay as potential CBL destinations to visit later in the term.
Keep up the great work ESC 13
Ms Pumfrey, Ms Soares, Ms Hugo.
Community Based Learning has commenced with trips to Garden City in Booragoon. Students researched their journey options using the TransPerth website. They prepared their backpacks with what they needed. Before boarding the bus, students wore their mask and got their SmartRiders ready. The class remembered to sit near the driver in case we needed assistance. Once we had arrived, we used the electronic information desk to locate the places they had chosen to visit. Next, we took it in turns to visit each of the stores before they practised using their money skills to purchase their lunches. It was great to see all students safely using transport and navigating their way using the Centre map.

This term students have started new option classes; including yoga, art, design and technology, and home economics. In yoga, students are learning different poses followed by meditation. In art, students are creating patterns to put on their Father’s Day gifts. In design and technology, students are using machines to cut pieces to make a Jenga set. While in home economics, students are following a variety of simple recipes including rice paper rolls, pizza and meat pies.
Mrs Megrail, Mrs Morgan, Miss Bregger and Mrs Tan.
In ESC 15, we have had a great start to Term 3. Students have been very busy getting prepared for our Pop Up Shop event that will be taking place in week 8. There has been so much talent and creativity poured into each creation for our stall.

Students have also been busy with their ASDAN units. For the Money Progression unit, students are planning a Leisure Activity and have chosen to visit Fremantle to play mini golf and purchase lunch. The students have done a great job using the Transperth Journey Planner! With very little help from staff, the students have recorded all bus numbers and times. We are very much looking forward to our excursion together!
Students also had such a great time at the School Disco and have been busy enhancing their independent living skills by making delicious banana pancakes which everyone enjoyed.
We are looking forward to having both a busy and productive term 3 together in ESC15.
Mrs Brennan, Ms Patterson, Ms Lester-Smith and Ms Close.
Hello Parents & Carers
I hope everybody enjoyed the holidays. This term seems like it is flying by and we will all be on holidays again soon.
We have been working very hard in ESC 17 to create items to sell at our school Pop Up Shop day. We are making ceramic pots filled with either a candle or a succulent. Each student has completed multiple designs and we can’t wait to share what we have done with you all.
During literacy lessons each student is getting very creative coming up with their very own character and setting that they will use to write their own story. Some of the ideas so far have been fantastic. Students have also had a great time on CBL and have been introduced to their sport buddies from Notre Dame. This is a great program, where students get to travel to the University of Notre Dame each week to do sport 1 on 1 with a Notre Dame Sport student.
We are looking forward for what’s to come and can’t wait for some of the activities we have planned this term, Pop up Shop, Multicultural day, and the Sports carnival to name a few. We have a busy few weeks ahead.
The students have done such a great job at participating in each lesson and showing a willingness to come to school, have fun and learn. I would like to thank all parents, carers and my wonderful team in ESC 17 for their continued support throughout the year.
Mr Drennan, Mrs Murugan, Mrs Buchanan, Mrs Botha.
PHYS ED - RECHELLE HAWKES, JENNA ALLOMES & JENELLE HEARD
Staff vs. students soccer match
To celebrate the last day of Term 2, staff and students gathered together to participate in a big soccer match. Competitive sides came out for both staff and students. Leeming students were very confident about defeating staff. Pre-match, Leeming staff kept their cool and developed a game plan to 'walk the walk' instead of 'talking the talk'. Leeming students kicked off to begin the game. Quick passes from Mustard, Shepherd and Cuffe-Cain had Leeming staff stunned, but brilliant goal keeping skills from Mr Simmonds kept the game alive. Mr Holdsworth, Mr Calasse and Mr Drennen zig-zagged through defence to create scoring opportunities for the staff. Let’s not forget about Miss A’s over commitment, putting her body on the line (or shall we say on the ground) to kick the ball towards goals.

All in all, staff and students had a fantastic time participating in the soccer game. Everyone was having too much fun, we didn’t keep a score!! Thank you to everyone involved and for providing such a fun opportunity for our Leeming staff and students.
Athletics
During PE lessons this term, all classes have been participating in athletics, in preparation for our House Athletics Carnival in week 8. Students have been developing their skills in a range of athletics events including - javelin, discus, shot-put, long jump, relays, team games and running races. We are looking forward to the carnival on Friday, 9th of September. Please feel free to come and support students on the day!

WORK PLACE LEARNING - SARAH LOMAX
Students have been very productive across different industry settings. Here is what a few of the students have had to say about their placements for the term so far:
David – IGA: My favourite task has been checking expiry dates. I like working with other employees as they like to help me if I need it.
Charlotte – Big W: I like going to Big W because you learn new skills like putting clothes on the racks, we put lots of chocolate on the shelves and clean the racks. The best thing I like to do is sorting out the different sizes of sports equipment like netball, soccer balls and footballs, the putting them in their baskets.
Ezra – Willetton Community Garden: I like working in the garden growing veggies. I found sweet potatoes in the garden bed. I loved digging for sweet potatoes, it was like digging for treasure. We used our veggies to make a delicious noodle soup.
Alyssa Middleton – Good Price Pharmacy: I really enjoyed it, it is fun. I help unpack boxes and put items on the shelf where they belong. My favourite section is the shampoo area.
Madison McAuliffe – Meerilinga Child Care: I am working at Meerilinga this Semester. I enjoy greeting the staff and children and then I play games and assist the staff with the 2 to 3 year olds. We do puzzles and build sandcastles. I help to clean the tables and chairs after morning tea.
Lily Murton – Australia Post: I like working at Australia Post. I sort packages for the post man to pick up. I also dust and wipe the shelves. The staff are really nice.
